Backend Developer PHP, TYPO3 and WordPress

 

To expand our development team, we are looking for a Backend Developer (m/f/d) who will design and develop sophisticated digital solutions and work with our interdisciplinary team to continuously improve them.

You will develop digital platforms, web applications and corporate websites that will be operated, expanded and integrated with various systems over many years. Your focus will be on PHP, TYPO3 and WordPress. Depending on your experience, you will also take on responsibility for architecture, code quality and technical decisions. Our focus is on healthcare, pharmaceuticals and medtech. We work for well-known companies in an environment where reliability, data protection, security, performance and long-term maintainability play a central role. In addition, we support selected clients from the B2B sector and the public sector.

This is what you’ll be doing with us

Back-end architecture and development
You will design and develop high-performance back-end solutions, web applications, corporate websites and digital platforms based on PHP.

TYPO3 and WordPress
You will implement bespoke projects using TYPO3 and WordPress. This includes the development and refinement of our own extensions, plugins, themes and project-specific functions.

Interfaces and system integration
You will integrate third-party systems via APIs, develop reliable data flows and ensure that different systems work together stably over the long term.

Quality and security
You develop maintainable, high-performing and secure code. Through code reviews, testing, documentation and binding development standards, you ensure the quality of our solutions.

Technical Design
You will assess requirements, develop technical solutions and assist with effort estimates. Your recommendations will be clear and well-reasoned, and will be guided by the long-term benefits for the project.

Collaboration and Consultation
You will work closely with front-end development, UX, design, consultancy and project management. You will advise your team on technical matters and, depending on your experience, also advise our clients.

Mentoring and Professional Development
If you already have relevant experience, you will provide technical support to colleagues, give constructive feedback and work with the team to further develop our standards, processes and technical working methods.

What you bring to the table:

• Several years’ professional experience in backend web development
• In-depth knowledge of PHP and object-oriented software development
• Extensive practical experience with TYPO3 or WordPress
• Experience with relational databases, version control and API integrations
• Understanding of modern development, deployment and quality assurance processes
• High standards regarding security, performance, maintainability and documentation
• Ability to assess technical requirements and develop suitable solutions
• Enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
• Fluency in German for working with the team and clients, as well as a good command of English

It is not essential for us that you are already proficient in every technology. What is important is a sound technical understanding, a sense of responsibility and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new requirements.
